Post subject:  Graphics Card Interference From Power-Supply?

When I turn on my computer I usually get horizontal red, green, or blue lines (only one color at a time), but if I unplug my DVI cable and plug it back in it usually fixes this. My power-supply is 900w and my graphics card is between 2-6 inches from it. I have done some research and I believe that this is being caused by interference from my power-supply.

Thank You In Advance,
Chosblade12

Unscrew your power supply and move it further away from the graphics card or put your graphics card in a lower slot and see if it still happens.

It might be a bad interface (DVI port) or bad DVI cable. There shouldn't be any interference between the two under normal circumstances.

Can you try a different cable, different interface (HDMI / VGA), or use the same monitor+cable on a different computer?

I have it now set up in a 3 monitor set up and I think it could be a problem with the cable, but when I get the interferience if I unplug and plug the cable back in it usually goes away. Any more ideas?

Yea, the card interface or the cable. You're either reseating the cable that is slightly loose or otherwise not making great contact, or you're doing something with that particular interface on the card. So I'd still try to swap them out to different computers if possible to eliminate those two options.

Failing those, it's possible that the monitor might just be flaky.
