Not sure what are you talking about. If you're talking about RAM then you don't need to be very alarmed. Just restart the computer. If you have slowdowns it could be various things. From virus, malware or it could just be your antivirus on the background. Try to be more specific. What antivirus, firewall are you using? What's your OS? |

Memory =/= Hard Disk Did you download or install anything large recently? Try running CCleaner to get rid of temporary files and see what happens. |

The hard drive is used constantly by the OS for things you'd have no idea were going on. Unless this space has been lost literally over night, it's probably something the OS is doing. If it's a sudden jump, maybe you've downloaded or installed something? |

Could be system restore points; try running CCleaner and go to Tools=>system restore and delete all but the most recent. If you don't want, or have CCleaner, just run Disk Cleanup, and show system files (vista+win7). Go to the 2nd tab, more options, and cleanup System Restore and Shadow Copies. Past that, I'd think about upgrading your HDD.. Laptop or Desktop, storage is getting cheap as hell. Just got an email from Newegg that had 500gb laptop drives for $89.99 that were going to be going on sale Tuesday.. 500gb for a laptop, likely going to $80 or lower with cheap shipping. How can you complain with that? Desktop drives are up to 2TB in size now, prices even cheaper than the portable versions. If you need or want more space, buying a new drive would be the best way to accomplish that. |

So long as you've run virus checks, etc., you can be fairly sure it's just the OS using the space. Just by another/a bigger hard drive. As Paul said- they're very reasonable now. |
