Why not spoil your ballot?

If that 31% holds true (lol), then until 2017 your country will be led by the candidate with the most votes out of that pitiful 31% of eligible voters. Now, if the other 69% got together and expressed their intimate concern on their ballot, by either choosing all, two, or no candidates, that would really send a striking message to the election's administrator, right?

Doing so gives you a silent voice, it's the least one can do. Otherwise you're branded as apathetic, no?

#RomneyRyan2012 (going to Meet Mitt on Saturday!)

My take on this on is a little different than the others. First of all, every Presidential candidate is going to say we need a strong military (actually weird hearing the dems say that now), agree on the use of drones, agree that we are better off with Bin Laden dead, etc. Those are easy softballs that I knew both would say. What I found interesting was their behavior, Obama seemed like the challenger this time, did not appear Presidential, and seems like he was trying to draw Romney into saying something he might regret, I am beginning to sense a bit a desperation. Romney definitely appeared more Presidential than Obama. He stated his positions, and refused the fighting bait Obama was desperately tossing at him. Again both sides will claim victory which is fine with me. I was proud of the way Romney stood above the childish name calling and focused on how he would fix our country.

I have endless problems with the US Government and its structure to begin with, but that's another story for another day. The President has much more limited power than most people think, yet he still does possess power. My problem with Obama is that he hasn't done anything to stop problems that have persisted since the last time he was campaigning. I watched the video below and at first though, "Well, it's perfectly fine to re-use rhetoric" until it hit me. It's not that he's re-using rhetoric, it's that he's had 4 years to attempt to solve the problems he's promising to solve in the next 4 years!

That being said, I am not sure who I'm voting for yet. My vote for the Libertarian party wouldn't push them to victory, but I might help get them to the percentage they need to receive more funding. I am slightly worried that my state (Georgia) will swing to blue this year, so I rather vote for the lesser of two evils; Romney. This is the first election I'll be able to vote in, so I want to at least be able to tell myself that I did the right thing.

I said I wasn't going to vote and didn't think I was, but at 8am tag along with the mother and brother.
It's not like birthday candles.. so I don't care if you know who I voted for. Obama.

But the question I was most stuck on was this states *** marriage policy, now I won't tell my answer on that question, but a topic I've debated both sides for years now.. and when it came down to time and I had to pick one answer and one answer only..
Well..
that was a hard one. But feel I made a difference regardless.

since this thread is still here, let's use this to post the results of the election tonight.

So for the remainder of the thread, lets all just post the results later tonight.

Let's keep this place civil, and neutral.

As somebody once said, just the facts.

7:15 pm PST, current tally is 157 obama to 173 romney.
florida with 43% of the tally is 50% obama, 49% florida.
ohio has the same results.

7:30 PST currently 167, to 173.
florida and still just a difference of 1% between the two candidates.
Arizona has been given to romney

8:00 pm PST current tally is 238 obama to 203 romney
north carolina has gone to mitt romney.
the reason for obama's big jump is because california polls just closed and it is expected to go obama, as with hawaii.

8:30 PST Ohio officially goes to Obama.
So far it is 274 to 203.
Congratulations for another four years president Obama.

What. A. Surprise.

Just a few notes:
- Liked Romney's speech better. Obama's was too idealistic, I have doubts about what will actually get accomplished.
- On the note above, someone had better compromise. The economy can't handle 4 more years of deadlock. If the US goes back into recession, everyone goes. I am legitimately concerned about what's down the road.
- If this voting demographic persists and the next republican nominee can't access the minority voters, then the republican party has a bit of a problem (maybe more on this in a few weeks).
- I think the election was fair and square. I think there are going to be some republicans who feel as though something was cheated somewhere.
