It seems like i'm the only one who is into indie/alternative rock. I can't stand mass produced, wanna be hardcore, music industry **** that they feed the kids today.
some of my favourite bands are Modest Mouse, The Shins, Arcade Fire, Built to spill, Elliott Smith, Ratatat, Sonic Youth, Black Rebel Motorcycle gang, etc etc. I can go on and on, I was just hoping to find some fellow indie fans coming up from the sewers.

Indie as indie sounding or as in independent as on independent record labels? XD
Most of the music I like is on independent labels. But I also like some "indie sounding" things, not that I am sure what constitutes as that.. XD Like Architecture in Helsinki, Arcade Fire (one of them went to my school. HA!), WHY?, and Tegan and Sara (major label though l o l are they even indie?). But that is it I thinky. Maybe I am moving my current music tastes more in that direction tho since last stuff I've added to music library was from aih and arcade fire and I been listening to more than other stuff.
I guess right now not really a "fan" though..

I'm not entirely sure what constitutes as indie music but I do know that none of the music I listen to is mass-produced mainstream American music. I listen to Modest Mouse, After Midnight Project, Thriving Ivory, The Latency, The Rocket Summer, Trading Yesterday, All That Remains, Anberlin, Motion City Soundtrack, and like one song of Tegan and Sara (I have a friend who loves them)

A band I recently got into is Grandaddy
They were a Indie group. they did not sellout. stood up for what they believed in, and didn't play any big sponsored venues.
which in the end, ended them.
I don't really know any indie bands. If I was a musician I would never sellout and stay true to my roots.

I listen to some of it, like arcade fire and all that remains. But in general I listen to the "hardcore" stuff.
